It seems that the concept of reason has been tossed overboard along with other wonderful items, peace, brotherhood and trust.
I watch the news on the tube and scour the web for some shred of hope about the tragedy of the middle east, but it is no where to be found.
All I see are leaders of the various peoples, flying flags and waving swords. Telling us tales of safety and tales of carnage.
All I see are people taking sides. This one is right, that one started it, he stole my lunch, and she bombed my house.
They act like true children, in the car of the lord, who is busy driving. If it were my father, he would give us one of his patented back had slaps from the front seat. We never saw them coming and could never to this day figure out how he did it. Yet as soon as we would begin to argue-blamo- there it was.
The middle east needs one of these!
There are all too many wrongs in this situation and the only way out is for each individual to stand up for the truth of their lives and the truth of this moment.
This war cannot be won by weapons.
This war cannot be won by jingoisms.
This war cannot be won, period.
There is too much hate dating back for all too long to have a simple answer.
It is sadly the same basic war we are fighting in this country. An ideological split between two powerful entities in the same region. Instead of firing missiles across boarders, we just fire them across the isles. And while the carnage is less blatant and much less bloody, it is just as clear.
There is only a single path to choose in this moment and that is the path of occupation.
I am not speaking about the military occupation of Palestine or the occupation of the former Soviet Union, nor the one of Europe, nor Tibet, West Sahara, Chechnya, or even the beautiful Basque Country.
No. I am speaking of the occupation of our souls.
The occupation of love.
We need to occupy, the Knesset, the House of Representatives, The Gaza, The Senate, Iran, The West Bank, the White House, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Atlanta, Syria and the streets of where we live.
We need to occupy the hearts and minds of those who believe in war and know with a distinct certainty that the ideology of war is worth destroying the world over.
